  1. Clean like you’ve never cleaned before: Once you’re done cleaning your house, clean some more. A spotless home not only looks more appealing but also signals to buyers that it’s been well-maintained. PRO TIP: Consider hiring professional cleaners who will scrub scuff marks from baseboards and meticulously clear dust from the top of your windowsills to ensure your home shines

    .

  2. Declutter and neutralize: Clear out clutter and depersonalize your space — remove excess furniture and all family photos, and clear all of your surfaces. This allows buyers to envision their own belongings in the home and makes the space feel more open and inviting. This is what I call "your first move". Go through everything and decide what you want to keep, trash, or donate, and rent a storage space if necessary.

  3. Make minor repairs: Address any small issues that might catch a buyer’s eye. Fix leaky faucets, squeaky doors, and any chipped paint or scuff marks on walls. These minor repairs can make a big difference in how buyers perceive the overall condition of your home and how well it has been maintained. PRO TIP: If you want to do one better, get a pre-listing home inspection so that you can make any large repairs and disclose the rest.
