In a real estate transaction, each team member has a vital role to play. Just like in the Big Game, where each team member brings their own set of skills to the field, each player in a real estate transaction has a specific role to play to ensure a successful outcome. Every player is essential to scoring that touchdown of homeownership — from the real estate agent to the lender to the home inspector!

Buyer Side:

  1. The Buyer's Agent (Your REALTOR): Your agent represents you and protects your interests throughout the real estate transaction. It is essential that you have a buyer’s agent on your side representing you and your best interests, separate from the listing agent.

  2. Lender & Loan officer: The loan officer examines your financial information and credit report to determine if you qualify for a mortgage and will walk you through the steps of getting approved for the loan. The lender is the financial institution that provides you with the financing you need to purchase a home.

  3. Home Inspector: A home inspector is a professional hired by the buyer to inspect the property from top to bottom and provides a comprehensive analysis of the state of the home’s major components and systems.

Seller Side:

  1. The Listing Agent (Your REALTOR): Your agent will represent you and your interests in the transaction. They will market your home, screen potential buyers and offers, and work with the buyer's agent throughout the process to ensure everyone gets to settlement.

  2. Photographer & Stager: First, the stager will work with you to make your home appealing to the most amount of potential buyers. Then, the professional photographer will take high-quality, high-resolution photos & video of your home for the marketing materials and online listing.

  3. Title / Settlement company: The title company ensures the title is clear of liens and encumbrances. This ensures that the seller is the true owner or has the legal rights to sell it.
